How did a new post immediately jump to #1 on my front page with only 8 comments? Is this some sort of payment for rankings? Were bots used to increase upvotes?

I'm really surprised, too. As I said in other replies, I thought it was a crypto oriented subreddit, because it appeared in my google searches about crypto stuff. Later I realized it's not limited to blockchain ecosystem.

This hasn't been paid or artificially increased in any way. I'm not a reddit power user and I'm really surprised at the moment. Subreddit appeared in my google searches about crypto and I thought it's a good idea to create an AMA session here
