How does a writer who's confident in his work find the right new filmmaker to pair work together with? What would you say are the most important qualifications of your field, to someone on the other side?

People who've come out of Troma, all the overnight sensations you might have heard of, James Gunn, Eli Roth, Trent Haaga, etc have all spent the better part of a decade writing and sending out script after script after script.. so keep writing and the filmmakers will find you...

Can you describe the best footage you've recorded that isn't movie related?

Also, what was your very first film?

Yes! my famous interpretive dancing when I was the stand-in dance partner for jacques d'amboise rehearising for Balanchine in 1983. The dance ended up in Stuck on You -- available free on Troma's you tube channel.

My first movie: "The girl who returned" -- also available for free but its completely unwatchable. It was put up solely to embarrass me.

In regards to rising filmmaking talent. Who do you think will be apart of the next generation of great directors in the horror genre?

Trent Haaga (68 Kill), Brandon Basham (Feartown USA and the Slashening), Eric Manche and Jeff Nitzberg did a great film we are releasing called Slimed, Sam Mason Bell also is getting current great reviews for Industrial Animals. When you picked up the rights to distribute Cannibal: the Musical, did you have any idea how big Matt and Trey would become?

Eliminating the cost of film vs digital, which do you prefer?

Well, I up until the premiere of "Return To Return To Nuke Em High Vol. 2" tomorrow in Philly and next week in LA, I preferred 35mm but now that these babies are out in the world, I think the Alexa is better than a 35mm film camera.

That's a good question. If you read my books you'll see that sometimes enthusiasm and loyalty to the project outweigh talent...at times. Remember to make a Troma movie you have to sleep on the floor and defecate in a brown paper bag...so Robert DeNiro isn't exactly begging to be on our set. He prefers to defecate in plastic bags.

"Is Return to Return to Nuke 'Em High Vol 2 will be playing in Philadelphia and Los Angeles?" And my answer would be Tomorrow at the Trocadero Theater starting at 8pm. Also the Ahrya Fine Arts Theater in Beverley Hills on March 8th! From the 9th-15th we will be showing the film at the NOHO 7 Theater in North Hollywood

This is an incredible opportunity to work closely with legendary independent filmmaker Lloyd Kaufman and The Troma Team responsible for underground classics like "The Toxic Avenger", "Tromeo and Juliet", and "Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead". Troma Entertainment is the longest running independent movie studio in the world having made films for over 44 years.

We need all hands on deck to build the interior of a yacht (see what we did there?) to be used in an avant garde adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest.

This a low budget feature and compensation is similarly low. However, if things go well, there is chance to receive a prominent screen credit and make memories that will last a lifetime.
