I am a Comp Sci Student, using my Veteran bennies. Akamai is a CDN, iirc. I have desires to work for NASA or Intel-- But I never thought about working for a CDN--

How rewarding is working for a CDN?

I have a few questions-- Questions I have always been curious about. Things regarding CDN's that have confused me.

1. Why is some content region locked? I remember as a child back in the late 90s always thinking the internet is a free place. It makes me wonder...
2. Who is controlling the internet? If somethings are available here and some not -- who is in charge of that?
3. With the future of automation on the horizon becoming more spread-- what are your thoughts on the front of the internet (edit- esp for security?)
