I'm not gonna lie, the Bunny story made me feel really sad too. Sentiment is a strong thing. I wonder if Bunny's still out there.

No, it's not the same reason. YouTube changed because it was sued multiple times by Viacom, and YouTube/Google won the first few. They settled the last one, which made ContentID. It's very strange that they would change something so suddenly and without warning or precedent.
