Maybe you could team up with people who are good at repairing scooters and get broken scooters from scooter rental places, then start kids classes where they can restore a scooter and use it. You might qualify for some grants or something. I know a guy who worked for a project that helped recovering alcoholics rebuild bikes and they just about stayed afloat and did a lot of good. Building something like this is a great educational experience, not to mention the value of the sense of achievement that comes with making something work! Anything that promotes learning, particularly STEMS related learning, is just awesome. Kids pick things up fast, and if you can inspire passion at a young age you can have a really positive impact on the world. Who knows what inspiration could come of it!
