As a Director, what do you think is the most difficult part of taking a pre-existing work, such as Black Lagoon, and adapting it to TV?

If and when you decide to make any changes to certain pieces of material, how do you come about making that decision? Also, I just wanted to say thank you, I absolutely loved Black Lagoon, and though I haven't seen Mai Mai yet, It'll be on my short list now!
