As an actor people don't believe when I say I put makeup on better than my girlfriend.

As a medic in the field you have to be prepared for anything. Especially on patrols. I was airborne, so chances were we had patrols far away from any field hospitals. You always raided the PX for tampons, something I picked up from some of the Navy docs. I learned how to sew really well. As a former butcher before signing up, I knew a lot about muscle and bone structure (we aren't far off from other animals) so operating in the field was something I was comfortable with.
It really came down to making sure you could stabilize them, but sometimes that was really hard to do depending on the severity of the injury. I had to do my fair share of field amputations, the worse was on the Afghan kids. Still though, medics don't get a lot of the credit they reserve outside of the guys they serve with.
I was lucky that I got to work with a lot of doctors (civilian and military) before I was in the field. I had a wealth of knowledge to draw from when shit hit the fan out in the sandbox.

Pretty much nailed it on the head. Social-Sexual behavior is very deeply tied to culture.
I could elaborate but in class at the moment.
