Armenian here. Armenian-Turkish animosity in pretty much inborn at this point. Unlike the Jews and Germans, or the Americans and Japanese who have begun to heal their relationships, the Turkish government's continual denial has only caused the wounds to fester further. Sadly, I don't think there's much "the Turkish people" as such can do until the assholes in the Turkish government stop blatantly denying historical facts. That being said, I very much appreciate you not taking your government's line. Most of us living in other countries are very much willing to accept and befriend Turks like yourself as individuals. Unfortunately, the Turkish government's criminalization of dissent in that matter that you alluded to makes this considerably more difficult when it comes to Armenians living in Armenia and Turks living in Turkey.

EDIT: To be clear, these aren't my personal opinions, but rather what I gathered from other Armenians I know. My personal view is that I despise the concept of collective guilt and try to only see people as individuals. As such I am fully capable of hating the individuals involved in the genocide as well as those who continue to deny it, without holding any negative feelings whatsoever towards the average Turk on the street. AFAIC, the average Turk who does not deny historical fact has nothing to feel guilty about or apologize for. People shouldn't be held responsible for what their ancestors did before they were born.

Do you watch Sons of Anarchy? How realistic is the portrayal of the "biker life" on that show?

Is expedia/travelocity a good way to find bargains on flights/hotels, or do you have other ways?
