What is your opinion on "energy saving bulbs" mandatory in EU, when we know that they have deadly mercury in them and on a years level save less than 1% of energy consumption?

In Germany potential savings were predicted 7,5kWh in 2010, which was 1,4% of anual energy consumption (source: Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft, 2010). Osram and Philips were main consultants to EU in banning regular bulbs. Check Bulb Fiction documentary, it will become more clear to you
