Sorry if my question comes across as naive, I am not experienced in this field.
What I am wondering is, why is it not easier to evolve AI? Couldn't a simulated environment of enough complexity cause AI to emerge, in much the same was it did in reality?
I feel there must be a better approach than that used in the creation, of say, chess programs or IBM's Watson. Where is the genetic algorithm for intelligence?
