I just want you to know that I ADORE your books and shift made me bawl my eyes out (cat story). How did you come up with the whole world building of wool? Any inspiration?

I lost my dog of 12 years late last year (3 months before that I lost my father had also passed) and when I read that chapter, I was inconsolable. It was so beautiful and so real at the same time.

(The loss hurts in direct proportion to how much we loved them. I learned to celebrate my pain as a badge of that love.)

This is something I've learned since losing them and you put it in to words so well. Time has helped me shed the guilt for the missed time I had with them and thankfully I'm left with the beautiful memories I will always have. Your books really helped me with that. The hole they left lead me find reading again to keep my pain and depression at bay. I developed a taste for post apocalyptic stuff and got the recommendation from reddit for the Silo series. They are now my favorite books ever!!!

It is sad but so amazing that someone like you, in that abhorrent pain, can find the world that exists in your imagination and show it to so many others. You have inspired me (and many more I'm sure). Thank you for that. Truly.
