I'm not sure if this is your field (or in fact if it's anyone's field) - but do you have any input on what the deal is with people who are physically unable to burp?

Speaking for myself, my parents tell me I used to burp normally as a child. Come 5-or-so years old and I haven't burped since.

Sounds like a non-problem but it can really be an issue since the urge to burp and the bloated feeling is still there, it just doesn't come out.

From what I've experienced myself and read online, doctors always seem to have a reaction similar to "huh, that's weird, dunno" as if it's new to them too.
