Can you share more about the lore? And does each character (mermaid and wrangler) have their own backstory and how all the characters met? Thanks!

Is buying organic a small step we can take? What else can we do in addition to contacting local officials?

I never want to be pollyannish about my views, so I did little research at your prodding. And I want to emphasize how little and how little of an expert I am.

Being "no safer", as you stated, seem to be not true. According this analysis, organic pesticides are both generally less harmful to invertebrates and degrade in the environment faster than non-organic:

In general, insecticides permitted for use on organic farms are less toxic to beneficial insects and less persistent than those used in conventional systems (Edwards-Jones and Howell, 2001; Roubos et al., 2014). Many organic insecticides (e.g., pyrethrins, Bacillus thuringiensis) are sensitive to degradation in sunlight and UV light and break down more quickly in the environment than common conventional insecticides, including most organophosphates, pyrethroids, and neonicotinoids.

With that said, I don't know who Xerces Society is. For all I know they get their money from an Organic Farming lobby.

So how did you come to the conclusion that they are no safer?
