Ideologically speaking, Republicans could be split into:

• Anyone can pick themselves up by the bootstraps - no one is born into situations that can't be resolved by strong willpower and smart utilization of available resources.

• Not everyone can pick themselves up by the bootstraps, but it's not the responsibility of the (federal, state, and/or local) government to aid them at all, but instead the responsibility of communities, businesses, non-profits, and smaller, more local governments.

• Not everyone can pick themselves up by the bootstraps, but the current government programs already in place, combined with efforts by individuals, communities, and the private sector, are sufficient enough to help them.

I hear that this is the case for many visual artists. An illustrator has told me that she's begun seeing everything in hatching and cross-hatching.

That isn't mutually exclusive to any of the other groups I mentioned.

Is there a general guideline for when computer-generated effects versus physical props, sets, and models are appropriate?
