How helpful is gravityspy.org #citizenscience, since finding #gravitationalwaves relies on cleaning out noise, like a needle in a haystack?

From what I gather listening to Dr. Rowan listen to recording at 3:40, space-time vibrates, stretches and compresses across a gravitational wave.

The graphics at the end of this BBC article More gravitational waves detected gives you a picture of the detectors and waves.

What implications does this have in our search for dark energy?
