And you honestly feel that your creative team needs to be top professionals from Atari, Nickelodeon, and Disney to achieve your goal? I know devs who have made brilliant games on nights and weekends while working day jobs. Its 2012 and the technology and resources are more available than ever before to make incredible games for MUCH less than $900k.

Sure, but you just compared this project to major releases. This is not a major release. This is an indie game that that they are modeling after a major release... or a major release in disguise. Plus, $900,000 for what? There is no game. In fact, there is not much of anything. In fact, they're asking the people donating to donate their ideas as well! So it would seem that not only are they crowd-funding, their using the crowd to create the game itself without having to give anything back to them financially. Essentially using the public for free labor.

No argument is intended -- but thank you for your condescending parenthetical. I'm merely trying to figure out why so much money is needed to make the game. I am perfectly aware of the benefits of crowd funding and think that a lot of good can come from that. Thank you for your time. I'll look forward to the progress of the game. Best of luck.

Hi David. First off, thanks for replying to me on Twitter. I cover the indie games scene on my YouTube channel and being that you're an icon to gaming, it meant a lot. I have to ask; why are you asking for so much money on Kickstarter? Also, at what point do you think businesses are using Kickstarter as an exploit to avoid risk associated with their business venture? It would seem that with a pedigree like yours and the connections that you have, you should be able to come up with that money no problem. I know devs who make beautiful, 3D, innovative games with a rich story for much less than that.
