As a former gas station worker, predicting cigarettes was so easy.

Where I am from - it was easy to guess with about 85% certainty. Pall Mall's go to the lower income younger people (They were the least expensive of the big name brands), Marlboro's were common around the average looking person, American Spirits were for the health minded people or younger generation, Winstons were for the older generations, Newports were for the travelers (if they didn't fit in any other profiles) or the suspicious looking people. It was really interesting seeing the trends change, like the popularity change between Marlboro and Newports was always a big event.
