Here is a pretty cool interview with the sound engineer for the halftime show. He talks about prerecorded vs live a lot.

He says basically every lead vocal is live (with a backing track in case things go wrong) and most backup vocals and instruments are recorded. The Rolling Stones demanded everything be live, and artists who solo/improvise more (he noted Springsteen and Prince) are more live than someone like Madonna.
