What we have at the moment is the alternative to discourse. There is a party that is proudly anti-intellectual, anti-science, and pro-"fuck you, I got mine". You cannot convince irrational people with rational explanations.

So what's the fix?

I don't know. It seems like the only thing that matters to this crowd is when consequence is personal. Before that, they can't give a single shit about their neighbor's health when a pandemic has already killed 140k people.
