Hi Hugh! I've been a fan of your work for a long time, Beacon 23 and Half Way Home are my faves. Thanks for doing this! My question is: What are your favorite hard sci fi books of all time? You're absolutely allowed to include your own works, and bonus points if the story includes space colonization! :D

Also not a disabled person, but have several friends who are. They say that as long as you're not actively rude, they honestly don't give a shit. They're so used to it anyway. And kids especially - kids don't know any better. My one friend has a skin disease that makes her look VERY odd, especially if its something you've never encountered before, and she gets kids commenting on it all the time. The best thing (to her) you can do as a parent in that situation is just explain to the kid, later, hey, we don't point out stuff like that in loud voices. :)
