I think that might alienate more people, especially those not into politics, than it would get on your side. Look at SOPA, people turned against that because sites like google and wikipedia blacked out in protest. People saw directly how the bill could effect their day-to-day life. That is how you get someones attention.

Educating people would be a start. If you asked random people off the street what net neutrality was, I would be surprised if a fraction had any idea.
