I was an ICU nurse during covid. The mortality rate for these patients once they got intubated was often horrifying low. I saw this get better over time, but there was a period earlier on in particular where at my hospital we were intubating an astonishing amount of covid patients, and very close to 0% of them were surviving. It felt very much like a death sentence. As the other poster said, it became apparent that many of these patients' best chance was in doing everything else medically possible to support them without having to tube them, and essentially just trying to ride it out.

What were the circumstances that led to you being under for so long? Can you elaborate at all on what you mean by "coma"? I only ask because in medicine being put into a "coma" is generally a specific state that is used under very specific circumstances, whereas what most people would think of as a medical coma (i.e.; being sedated and kept asleep) is not a coma at all.
