What do you think of Robert Zubrin's plans for getting to Mars?

YES I saw him talk when he came here to Australia. VERY sensible plans, low tech, use current tech, and send supplies and units for extracting oxygen and other fuels on site. He mentioned the proposal NASA put in and the realistic budget for his plan was lower by a factor of at least ten. His reasons for the blowout were that companies that put proposed tenders in were using the project as an opportunity to develop new tech rather than use existing tech (among other reasons). I'm rather obsessed with Mars if you hadn't noticed.. :). By the way, I love the hubblecasts. :)

I too would love to see this, together the combined space budgets of all countries concerned could launch some huge and far reaching projects! :)
