I'll just say that I consider you the spiritual successor to Hunter even apart from the fact that you work for RS. I'm glad that if you only had one encounter with him that it was a reasonably positive one.

I saw HST once in the '80s at a campus appearance in Minnesota. He was very funny and engaging, but I was intimidated by him personally even though I thought his work was both the most hilarious thing I'd ever read and among the most important and influential. I hope that the movies done about him don't turn him into a cartoon figure because his writing, especially his Nixon obit, is still worth reading even today.
