Honorable relative to the SS and Gestapo is not saying much. This is the "Clean Wehrmacht Myth" that was propagated heavily at wars end and during the Nuremberg Trials. Fact is war crimes and crimes against humanity were perpetrated by members of the Wehrmacht (at all levels) including an active role in the Holocaust.
