Also happens to me (to a much lesser extent and a less severe health problem), people can't really empathise with what they don't understand. Takes a lot of time expressing what you feel so they understand it is not being lazy but being unable to cope with the pain and that foggy feeling in your mind is terrible.

No matter what people tell you, it is obvious you try hard, as hard as you can. And if you feel angry when they don't understand it is ok to feel anger, just remember that they are probably ignorants and need tons of help to understand, and that's where your boyfriend will help a lot to make people understand at least a bit.

I won't say "everything will get better" but at least i hope you receive the pain meds you need, there is no point in suffering needlesly.
