One thing that helps me is immediately upon getting the aura, to turn off all lights, all screens, if possible close my eyes, or have a pair of very very dark glasses at hand... mine usually start with a reflection or projector light going straight into my eyes, it seems as if the light becomes an echo and keeps bouncing. If I stay in the dark for a few minutes, they go away.
