This just killed me

Everyone sees Stephen Hawking and thinks that people who suffer from ALS get those machines he has when in reality it would cost 10's of thousands of dollars if not more... Have the Doctors or Engineers you've been working with given you any insight as to how much they think this system could cost in its preliminary stages as well as after they streamline the technology for (hopefully) mass use?

Could it be reasonable to say we don't actually think in a language, but we think in ideas and concepts but once the thought is there we just attach a language to it? An example is I can look at a bus and understand its a bus but I don't need to know the word bus to understand it do I? Because the contrary would assume that language is necessary for any type of advanced thought no?
