This year I recently got involved with issues involving Aboriginal people from an academic point of view and while working for the Ontario government doing policy research. It all pretty much stemmed from having Pam Palmater as a teacher for a graduate course.

My question is how do you perceive the polarizing figures in this debate? Do they add to the discussion or take away from it? Professor Palmater is a very interesting and intelligent woman, but it seems that when the discussion is unfolding her and some supporters are perceived as aggressive. When it comes to the debate then people tend to focus on that side of it and condemn these actions and people over the actual systemic issues.
