I'd definitely say that you got lucky in that regards to that. I've read some case reports and they're very sad...lives are thrown away.

I'm glad that you got out of Syria relatively unscathed. You have a whole life ahead of you, and even if you struggle with the scars of the mind, you'll be able to make a lot out of it. Best wishes to you!

Do you worry about aftereffects of exposure to toxic chemicals? In America, we have a number of veterans who suffer from 'Gulf War Syndrome' from exposure to very toxic compounds during the 1990-19901 Persian Gulf War. Would you be concerned about anything like that?
