There has been a fair amount of notice, both negative and positive, of the increased amount of cycling in Denver in the last few years. Several times in the past year, folks have posted in /r/Denver that DPD had a car watching an intersection that was ticketing cyclists for failing to yield for stop signs.

Is there a general aim towards increasing enforcement of traffic violation by cyclists? Are offenses such as travelling at night without lights or going the wrong way in a bike lane (two of my pet peeves, as a cyclist myself) planned to receive increased enforcement as well?

Are there separate enforcement guidelines for the downtown pedicabs?

Two things worth noting when looking at crime maps is to look at population density of the area (to get an idea of crimes/person) and the nature of the crimes. Normally you'll see things broken down at least into broad categories such as "Violent"/"Property"/"Other". Although no stranger to violent crime, I was surprised to see that LoDo has a surprisingly large amount of property crime. If I remember to check later tonight, I'll add a reply to a map that actually lists the individual charges for reported crimes so you can investigate further, should you like.

Presumably this story about the Rocky Mountain Computer Forensics Laboratory is the computer lab that /u/DenverPolice is referring to. In 2011, the RMC employed 27 law enforcement officers.
