Bear Grylls is an entertainer when he does his show. To say that's all he is is doing the man a disservice. Look up his accomplishments. He was in the SAS, he's been on world record breaking expeditions, one of the youngest to climb everest, flew over it in a paraglider I think... yknow, he still does stuff.

I take his shows for what they are though, entertaining. Mild survival stuff.

It's good for people to realize that but still know he's one awesome and tough guy.

As an unemployed hermit with depression, how can I get in on this action? Do they need a longer term study case?

I think it'd be interesting to try something like that, but i'm in Canada and not in a huge city so I don't think there's anything local.
