I've often wondered about the "heart test". When the guy starts getting aggressive, do you just go off and beat his ass (or take an ass whipping as the case may be)? I mean, he's been there and has friends, you are the new guy. I'd be afraid of having all of his friends pile on after I snap his fucking jawbone. "I'm going to take this foot and kick you on that side of your face. And there's nothing you can do about it."

Or is the point just to see if you will stand up for yourself? I was raised by a violent drunk. One thing he taught me is that when the shit hits the fan, don't wait for the other guy to throw the first punch. Take that motherfucker out before he has a chance to make a fist.

I have anger. I wish I could learn to forgive and let it go. My experience is nothing compared to what you endured, and yet you are able to find forgiveness in your heart. How do you get to a point where you truly let it go? I've tried and it always resurfaces. I'm so tired of being angry, I feel it is making me old before my time.

I just wanted to say that I'm sending you my best wishes for your recovery. You seem to have an awesome attitude, I admire you.

A friend of mine was diagnosed with leukemia last year. He was given a 1-3 % chance of survival because he has something called the Philadelphia chromosome. Today he is cancer-free. This taught me that there is always hope. Always.

That's exactly what my friend said. I remember early on, it was bleak...my God, my entire body just got goose-bumps...We were talking and big, bad me started to cry (like I am right now)...he said, "Don't fucking count me out. I'm not done. I'm going to beat this thing and I need you here for me." He damn sure did. I need to call him right now.
