Is there any evidence (anecdotal or otherwise) to indicate that the current crisis is impacting the number of new recreational drug users in the area? That is, is there any evidence that the fear of fentanyl/carfentanyl encouraging some to simply not take up the habit in the first place?

Why not? Bags are very efficient -- they use significantly less plastic, and generate less waste.

When I lived in Ontario, I never had to spend time crushing plastic bags to get them to fit into my recycling bin, unlike with jugs.

Depends on where you live. A lot of smaller communities still revolve around their local rinks.

I never played any organized hockey growing up (street hockey and sometimes played a bit of pickup at a local outdoor rink when I was young), and don't really follow the leagues during the season -- but I usually get out to watch one local (non-NHL) game a year, and a huge percentage of Canadians will be watching the Canadian teams during the Olympic Gold Medal finals.

So it's certainly part of the national consciousness at some level, but I find most Canadians aren't necessarily super-fans.
