Essentially, I thought she was alright, but then I was told to do more then skim her responses. See other replies to my above statement. Now I think differently. The independent clause now reads "I find this whole thing to be suspicious and shady."

It's two tildes before the first non-space character you want to cross out, and two tildes after the last non-space character.
