From the /r/surface subreddit, here's an interesting idea about the 'blade' which I think we all would love if you could implement :)

Under the touch surface is some type of oled screen that can show different keyboard layouts for different software. Really, it's like a lightweight touchscreen.

or an E-ink screen.

That would also make the 'Courier' come true. :D

Btw, a big cheers on these products, hopefully you'll get the marketing bit correct this time :)

Other ideas for covers:

1. A cover for drawing? (Wacom like)
2. Dedicated gaming cover
3. A cover for specific music instruments? (Piano, for instance?)

I really hope you'll launch a lot more covers for a lot of use cases! That would be a whole ecosystem of it's own and if you open it to third parties, it's going to be amazing :D
