I'm not a psychology professional in any way, but I've read that kinks like that (for abuse victims) can be a way of taking ownership of your sexuality and body---basically, asserting that you can CHOOSE to be submissive, tied up, whatever, rather than it being forced upon you. Reframing the action so that it's something you have chosen, if that makes sense.
