Well tickets would be a lot cheaper if bought in advance. I'm guessing maybe the spontaneity of it drives up the cost a bit.

I sometimes hear it's difficult for Aerospace Engineers to get jobs at NASA. Being an AeroE myself and getting ready to graduate in about a year, I'd be interested to hear more about how you came to work at Lockheed and NASA and any advice you might have for a beginner.
