That was me! I'm the brother of Jon's friend Ciara

About 6 years ago Jon offered me a lift into town to go college, and you were in the car with us. You were on your way to go busking on Grafton street, and had just gotten a slot at Oxegen (2009 I'm guessing?). You struck me as a really cool and down to earth guy. Not long after you put out the video for take me to church, and I posted it here because it was genuinely incredible and the type of thing Reddit would like.

The rest is history I guess!

Lived in Lisbon for a year, here's my standard night out for visitors:

  1. After a day of sightseeing and chilling, get a steak dinner in the cheap and excellent "Atalho Real". It's in Principe Real, a nice leafy area high up in Lisbon.

  2. Head from there about a minute down the road to the miradouro in Principe Real, where you get a seriously nice view over the whole city, with some nice live music usually ongoing.

  3. Now the fun starts. From there, around midnight, start pub crawling through Bairro Alto. Always move downwards and you can't get lost. Beers are about a euro - chat to some people, dance a bit, have fun.

  4. If you keep moving downwards you'll end up in Praça Camoes, and from here you take the long straight road down towards the water. Eventually you'll see a big pink street, where you can check out the quite cool Pensao Amor (former brothel that's now a reasonably hip place to drink). Otherwise you can grab a beer in the many bars on the street.

  5. Aaaand we're not even done: between 2-3am it's time to head to Lux. Grab a cheap taxi, every driver will know what you mean if you just get in and say "Lux, se faz favor" (super polite ;))

  6. Pay a few euro in to Lux and get that straight back with the free drink tokens. Have fun till the sun comes up.

  7. Profit

Ahhh I miss Lisbon. Enjoy your trip!
