My fiance's cousin is 16 and still carries hers with her everywhere. But she's pretty and trendy enough that she wears it like a hipster scarf or shawl. I like to think Linus pulled off a similar maneuver.

I think a great example of this was in the BBC's Frozen Planet (which Sir David worked on and narrated!), when the mama wolf and the young bison were locked in a battle to the death. The cameraman just collected footage. There were no explosions or witty one-liners, just raw animal magnitude.

I can confirm the large quantity of wood option. I get my dad some Minnesota basswood for carving pretty much annually and he lights up like a child at Christmas.
