I'll start things off

  1. The Millennium Project covers an extremely large range of topics that are of concern for humanity. If you had to pick one issue that you think is most important for humanity to focus on in the coming decades, what would it be? How would you focus on solving this issue?

  2. I'd like to hear a little more about your time at Singularity University. What is it like teaching there and what are your opinions on the organization as a whole?

I'm sure he can answer this better than me, but recently he's been talking a lot about 3D printing as well as synthetic meat. He believes that synthetic meat could be an excellent way to reduce the environmental impact of humans.

I can confirm this. I read the book and it blew me away. Mr. Glenn not only accurately described the ways in which technology would evolve, he also pointed out some of the issues which came about as a result of accelerating technology.

Hi Peter. First of all, I want to thank you. You are one of my personal heroes and Abundance has irrevocably changed the way I see the world and live my life. Your passion for improving humanity is admirable and inspiring. I have many questions for you, but I will keep it short as I know your time is valuable.

What would your advice be to a college senior hoping to one day attend Singularity University? Work in a tech start up? Work for a think tank? It is one of my highest ambitions in life to attend SU and I would love to hear your input.

P.S. We are big fans of yours over at /r/futurology, a 115,000 person community dedicated to studying the future.

Hi Luke, Thanks so much for doing the AMA. I am a huge fan of your writing and I think that you are absolutely the right person for the Singularity Institute.

My question for you is what is your opinion on the accelerating technology version of futurism? It seems to me that there is a pretty deep divide between those that believe in Accelerating Technology (Kurzweil being the biggest proponent) and those that favor the Intelligence Explosion version of the Singularity (Popularized by Eliezer Yudkowski). I know that folks at the SI have considered changing the name to distance themselves from Kurzweil.

Personally I am interested in both of them. Intelligence Explosion will certainly have a bigger impact if it happens, but it seems to be less of something that the average person can help with. Accelerating tech, on the other hand, is already effecting our lives. It isn't some distant possibility, but a reality in the here and now.

Also I'd love to hear a couple stories about working with Eliezer. I'm sure things are interesting around him.
