Although nowadays it seems that more and more EU countries are becoming sceptical about the role European institutions (cfr the debate over EU budget and the rise of anti-euro political movements in southern europe and, recently, Germany). It's like those reasons on which the EU was founded are getting increasingly weaker.
Does Germany need to step up and take the initiative in ruling the EU agenda?

What's your personal opinion about the Euro crisis?
Do you think that the EUR will survive or eventually the monetary union will eventually have to split into two areas (Northern Europe vs Mediterranean Countries)?
