Detroit always seems to be the butt of jokes (especially on Reddit) from people who have clearly never been to the city. What do you say to those people who see Detroit as one big joke?

Dude, you are the one actually in the White House! You and your colleagues, who apparently feel the same way you do, have the power, stature and voice to make a difference. A movement from all of you collectively would be powerful! This bs American Values thing (whatever that means) isn’t going to save us.

I'm sorry to be an ass but I have to question this. You wouldn't be admitted to an institution simply based on your mother's "diagnosis." There would have to be very formal assessments and investigations done to actually diagnose and simply saying you were abused when others deny does not indicate schizophrenia.

Also, where was your mother in all this? Any allegation of abuse would have to be investigated.
