Just wanted to say that you and your wife sound awesome. There are a lot of people fostering and adopting kids for the wrong reason, but it sounds like you are really supportive of the kids. Thank you for that. :-)

I just want to say... dammit... I just watched the video that you linked to, to see your episode. I finished it at like, 6:30pm? Now at 7pm, I turned on my TV to watch Wipeout and you know what? THEY ARE PLAYING THIS EPISODE. What are the chances that my local station would be playing this episode tonight?
Anyway.... Did Nasty Nat really never wash those pants?

I just want to say that you must be a strong and amazing person, and I admire you for that. My mom works as a post-adoption counselor for kids who often have been neglected or abused. I am so proud of what she does (she really is interested and concerned about meeting the needs of the children first and will fight to do so). From what I have heard and read, I know that often kids who have been through hell in their homes sometimes end up being put through hell once again with foster care and/or CPS. It sounds like you definitely experienced that by being placed with your biological dad and then put back with your step dad again. My question for you is: what is one thing you wish your social workers would have listened to but didn't? What advice do you want to give to social workers who may work with cases like yours?
Thank you again for your AMA, You're been through hell and have been so kind and strong to share your story with us. I'm going to send a link of this AMA to my mom so she can read it too.

What is a good way for adults to phrase a question without sounding insensitive? Saying "what's wrong with her?" sounds rude, and I never want to sound like I assume there is something "wrong" with anybody. So how can I phrase a question to find out what is going on with your child and open up a discussion with the parents without sounding rude or maybe rubbing you the wrong way if I were to catch you on maybe a not-so-good day?

This is way great, and the goal was totally blown out of the water. But can we urge people from this point on who are interested in making a donation, to make a donation in the honor of oceanskys to their favorite cancer research center? Sadly a lot of people will die much too early due to cancer. And a lot of them won't get an amazing opportunity like this. But with funding research, we can help extend survival rates and give a great gift to thousands of people.
