There are some really fucked up laws for things like this. One of my best friends got fucked over by the state of Texas with something very similar. He met a girl online and hooked up. Turns out she was 14 going on 21.

She had a fake ID on her, admitted to lying, whole 9. Guy ends up in jail and on the registry. He ended up out on probation but every time there was a paperwork glitch, they'd come and arrest him in Georgia and haul him back to Texas.

There's a lot of awful shit with this. I'm glad you've turned it around!
