I think I can understand. I've never been homeless but I did serve in Iraq. Now I'd never want to go back, unless it was more stable, maybe. But the simplicity of that life, despite the dangers, was a really weird and freeing experience. There are still stresses in that life, but not the kind that make you worry about tomorrow. You focus on the moment more and I think it helps keep people resilient regarding anxiety until they're back in the life where they have to worry about paying rent, gas, food, etc.

Might've been a case of "might as well tip her well, she has to deal with our dumn, drunk asses." if they picked up that she seemed annoyed or something. Like trying to passively make amends. Lol just a thought. Idk.
