David Belk, thank you for the work you are doing. I have seen your work in the past and even cited it in a paper I wrote.
If I ran for President of the United States, could I hire you in as one of my advisers if I got elected? If you accepted, what would be some of your immediate policy advice (list a top 3 or a top 5...I know you're probably short on time. If you can give a super long and thorough answer, that'd be great)?

Just finished a digital forensics degree this spring. I can tell you that it is so hilariously unbelievable that those HDDs "broke" and "lost data." In fact, it is so extremely stupid that they even tried to pull this off that I do not understand why you need to be a digital forensics expert to know this: even laymen see how ridiculously obvious this is.
In fact, information from those HDDs, regardless of them crashing, is still retrievable. I think all of those involved should be charged with obstruction of justice.

I like all 3 of those ideas. I do plan to run for public office. I will keep your name on my mind.

You are correct. The research shows that when people are more apt to obtain preventative care, the problems and issues down the road are caught early before they become severe issues (and, by extension, more costly issues). That is why many insurance policies offer benefits if you get an annual check-up (like a $50 discount on your policy) and other policies penalize you for not getting an annual check-up (such as a $50 penalty).

/u/BernieKatzman, I have no suggestions. I am also a pianist (not a professional) and, without a doubt, you are a very educated and very talented professional.
Thank you for bringing these moments of joy to me.
