So are you under the impression that its "more" sustainable for the refugees to be given asylum in Libya. Or Algeria. Compared to Germany?

I don't see anything wrong in a layperson knowing/learning enough to review/question their doctors decisions. Blind faith in experts is not smart. In any case I suppose you are not able to provide any useful information right?

You mention lack of peer reviews. I always thought that all papers were peer reviewed. Is there some catalog of disreputable journals/publications that don't peer review? It would save a lot of time if I could easily reject the drivel when researching something.

I'm not an academic, just a lowly code monkey who occasionally has to wade through papers for work. I've found too many papers that are either unintelligible or not reproducible. Nowadays I only trust/filter papers written by reputable individuals in the field.

How does someone without a medical education go about learning enough about radiology to be able to interpret scans (CT/MRI)? Are there any books / resources you would recommend?

Either way it makes no difference.
