It means that it's very politically attractive for them to prioritize women. They made it into an election issue and now it needs to be painted as a much more significant problem.

I don't mean to blame anyone except the government though, they're probably not getting the funding to do anything else but appear to fulfill dubious election promises.

They see a broad strokes issue that can appeal to indigenous populations as well as feminists and chose to run with that through the course of extensive studies and forethought.

I'm just saying where is all this foresight and extensive research when it comes to the thousands of Alberta family farms being forced to sell out because of legislation that is being forced on them with about a weeks notice? Or the fact that we're seeing an investment exodus, the likes of which our economy has never seen. (Yes including the 80s oil bust)

The efficacy of these studies, in my opinion, revolves more around Trudeau's legacy, than it does to actually fix anything.

It will definitely be a generational thing. I brought up that full self driving is pretty much ready to go to a table full of seniors. They were talking about how they were finally getting comfortable driving in their vacation areas.

They all instinctively laughed at the idea of putting their lives in the hands of a robot going freeway speeds. One of them laughs and says, "No thanks!"

To me that would be the dream, just getting chauffeured around to golf courses, farmer's markets, and interesting restaurants while sipping a mimosa and talking nonsense with friends. It could usher in a new era of travel where instead of it being a chore, it would feel more like it did when the interstate was first built and people felt liberated and adventurous.

I've learned more about orbital mechanics through Kerbal Space Program than any textbook. Any thoughts?

Whats the biggest hurdle or bottleneck in today's space programs? Are there far greater regulatory/liability issues? With all due respect, the perogatives of today seem a tad lackluster when you compare them to the 60s-70s. Maybe I'm just I'll informed.

So is the argument of "instead of embracing an open and honest dialogue to remedy a problem, let's contextualize everything in a way that affecting change means we have a clear protagonist and antagonist, because it would be insensitive to even consider the possibility that natives are killing natives at an alarming rate.
