edit: AMA's in r/Fantasy are posted the morning of the AMA with the participant returning 'live' at a set time. This gives redditors a better shot at learning about the AMA and posting a question.

When will your next novel, The Doors of Stone be released?

Confirmed that this is Patrick Rothfuss

Like all r/Fantasy AMAs, this one was posted earlier in the day with Patrick Rothfuss scheduled to return at 8PM Central for Q&A. This gives more redditors a chance to ask a question.

WORLDBUILDERS CHARITY & GIVEAWAY

Worldbuilders is a charitable organization started and run by Pat Rothfuss where donations go to Heifer International. Great effort supporting a really good cause.

Fantasy / SciFi authors, industry people, artists, movie people and more donate items to Worldbuilders as fundraiser prizes and auction items. Check out the Worldbuilders FAQ here. Pat constantly updates the giveaway items on his blog.

r/Fantasy is helping out Worldbuilders again by organizing our own giveaway. If you note here that you donated to Worldbuilders, then you will be entered in our own r/Fantasy giveaway – piles of books donated by Staffer’s Musings and a grand prize of a signed and dedicated Patrick Rothfuss hardcover. (The Name of the Wind or The Wise Man’s Fear - your choice.) You will also get “Worldbuilders” flair after your name on r/Fantasy.

tl;dr Donate here then put “I donated” here to win extra prizes.

No marketing push on this one - he was contacted by the r/Fantasy mods and is acting on his own behalf.

Feel free to check out the other AMA's on r/Fantasy. All AMA's there are done this way to give redditors time to look into the subject and post a question.

Understood. It has worked very well with international redditors who are not on the typical North American time zones and those who like to do research before posting a question. The participants like it as well.
